2025-26 | FRESHMAN SEASON (LONG BEACH STATE)
Big West Freshman of the Year… Second Team All-Big West… Kyle Macy Award finalist, given to the top freshman in the nation… Had arguably the best season in Long Beach State history for a freshman… Broke multiple freshman records previously held by Lucious Harris, including most points in a single-game (39) and points in a season (542)… Scored the 24th most total points in a season in program history in just 28 games… Averaged 19.4 points per game which ranked sixth among freshmen in the country, just behind AJ Dybantsa (BYU), Darius Acuff (Arkansas), Ebuka Okorie (Stanford), Cameron Boozer (Duke) and Caleb Wilson (North Carolina)… Ranked second the Big West Conference in scoring as well as conference only scoring at 20.9 points per game in league play… Shot 38.7 percent from three and made a team-high 105 free throws while shooting 79.5 percent… Scored in double-figures 26 times, including 15 games of 20 or more and four games of 30 or more… Led Long Beach State in scoring 18 times… Played in 28 games, while making 26 starts … Scored a career-high 39 points at Cal State Bakersfield (2/28/26) and later won Big West Player of the Week… Had 30 points for the first time in a win against San Diego (11/30/25)… Had five-straight games of scoring 20 or more points… Scored 34 points at CSUN (1/17/26) after going 15-for-16 from the free throw line and later earned Big West Player of the Week.

Two guys that lived with Gavin for a period of time growing up were Jordan Ford, who plays basketball overseas and Drake Callender who plays as a goalkeeper for Minnesota United FC… Started playing basketball at the age of four, following the footsteps of his brothers… Also inspired by Kyrie Irving… Chose to wear No. 11 because of Kyrie Irving… Favorite basketball moment was when the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers came back from down 3-1 to beat the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals… Pregame routine includes praying and tying shoes a certain way… Tries to model his game off of Kyrie Irving and Devin Booker… When not playing basketball, enjoys golf and fishing… When playing career is done, wants to be a basketball coach.
