Played for Star Alliance in Italy last season… Part of the Stella Azzurra program, a development academy renowned across Europe for producing elite-level talent… Competed for Team Next Gen at the 2026 Adidas Eurocamp… Played in 2026 Basketball Without Borders Global that brought together 40 of the top high school age prospects from 29 countries and territories during NBA All-Star 2026 Los Angeles and averaged 8.2 points over five games… During the 2024-25 season, averaged 33.6 points per game for Star Alliance in Italian U17 competition, while also putting up 18 points per game playing up at the U18 level as a 16-year old… Played at BWB Europe 2025 and averaged 8.0 points over four games… Played for Latvia at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2024 and averaged 18.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game… In 2024-25, was a member of the Next Gen team that captured the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague Munich Tournament title… In the summer of 2025, participated in the Basketball Without Borders Europe Camp and was named to the All-Star Five… Competed in the adidas Eurocamp… Made Grind Session debut at the Bridge of Hoops Invitational in Bassano Del Grappa, Italy in October of 2025… Against Southeastern Prep (FL), scored a career-high 38 points on 15-of-28 shooting from the field and 5-of-12 from three.

Born Aug. 1, 2008… Name pronounced REE-sherds EYE-spurs… Guardian is his sister, Ilva Valeika… Mother (Irena) and father (Normunds) ran track professionally… Has three brothers and one sister… Sister, Ilva, played on the Latvian national women’s basketball team… Brother, Ingars, played at the highest level in Latvian basketball… Started to play basketball at 12 years old… Started in sports as a track runner (400m and 200m and thrower (shotput), but was inspired by his brother to play basketball who was a professional at the time… Favorite basketball player is Devin Booker… Favorite basketball moment was when he was playing for the national team and hearing everyone shouting his name in his first home game… Pregame routine includes texting the same message to all family members and call his father… Wearing No. 8 because he was born in the eighth month (August) of 2008… Models his game after Devin Booker or Austin Reaves… When not playing basketball, enjoys bowling… After playing career ends, wants to continue being around basketball and build a team in Latvia for players to see the world and play the best competition possible.
