AUSTIN – The TCU track and field team is headed to Austin to compete in the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, hosted by the Texas Longhorns on April 2-4.
The four-day meet will begin on April 1st at the Mike A. Myers Stadium, showcasing elite college athletes and professionals.
Last weekend, Ben Kirbo took home the pole vault title for the second consecutive week, clearing a season-best 5.38m (17-7 ¾) on his first attempt. Additionally, Serina Ramirez finished first in shot put, throwing a 14.61m (47-11 ¼), which ties her season best, for the second week in a row.
On the track, Gabby Martin and Zach Troutman won each of their respective races in the 5000m. Georgia Scott placed second overall, but first among collegiate runners in the 1500m. Racing the 400m for the first time this season, Ronnie Kendrick went 46.10 to earn the victory. Later in the 800m, senior Mohammed Kowa picked up the win and cracked the top-10 in school history with a 1:48.06.
As track season moves into April, the Horned Frogs have 12 top 25 marks nationally. Sophomore London Tucker boasts the No. 7 long jump (6.29m) and No. 13 100m dash (11.42). Scott owns the No. 9 800m in the NCAA on the women's side. Kendrick (No. 9 400m), Kirbo (No. 9 pole vault) and Kowa (No. 10 800m) all have top 10 marks in the country on the men's side too.
This year's meet will be streamed on SEC Network+ on Friday and Saturday. Friday's broadcast will begin at 9:35 a.m. CT, followed by Saturday's coverage at 10:35 a.m.
