
Preview: Big 12 Outdoor Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. – TCU track and field is set for the 2026 Big 12 Outdoor Championships hosted by the University of Arizona from May 14-16 at Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
All 16 teams in the conference will come together to compete in the three-day championship meet. Last season, the women finished recorded their best team performance ever since joining the Big 12, finishing third with 86 points, and the men also made waves, finishing sixth overall with 64 points, tied for their second-best performance in school history.
Individually, the Horned Frogs boast 21 top 10 times in the Big 12. Defending sprint champion, Mayberry ranks sixth in the 200m, only running the race once this spring. Her teammate London Tucker also sits at No. 6 in the 100m and No. 8 in the long jump. Tia Williams owns the sixth-best 400m hurdles and eighth-best 400m coming into the meet. In the middle-distance ranks, Georgia Scott is eighth in both the 800m and 1500m. Triple jumper Alleah Krote and shot put thrower Serina Ramirez hold the No. 10 marks in the conference in their respective events. Junior javelin thrower and back-to-back Big 12 Champion Irene Jepkemboi hold the top mark in the conference and will compete for a three-peat on Thursday. Additionally, TCU's women's 4x100m relay is the fastest in the Big 12 this season with a blistering 42.91.
Jayden Douglas leads the men with the No. 1 400m hurdles (49.81) in the Big 12. Senior middle distance runner Mohamed Kowa owns the third fastest 800m mark, and Ben Kirbo ranks sixth in the pole vault. Competing in his first outdoor conference championship, freshman Ashvin Balaramana boasts the No. 7 high jump with a 2.10m clearance, and Damilare Olukosi ranks ninth in the triple jump. Ronnie Kendrick also checks in at No. 10 in the 400m. Both of the men's 4x100m (seventh) and 4x400m (fourth) relays are inside the top 10 as well.
