Horned Frogs get back in the win column
FORT WORTH – On a sunny but windy Sunday afternoon at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, the TCU women's tennis team picked up a 4-0 win over Iowa State to earn the squad's fifth win of Big 12 play through six matches.
TCU (11-2, 5-1 Big 12) was able to rally to clinch the doubles court on the deciding court then pushed through singles play with ease, securing three courts to clinch a 4-0 sweep over the Cyclones.
Cayetana Gay and Cristina Ramos Sierra improved on their undefeated records for this season, as Gay moves to 7-0 and Ramos Sierra to 8-0 after today's victory.
The pairing of Tomi Main and Gay improved their dual season ledger to 5-0 after grabbing a win on court two during doubles play.
DOUBLES RUNDOWN
Using the same doubles pairings as on Friday against Kansas, TCU saw a different result this time in doubles, as the Frogs were able to stay resilient and earn a tiebreak victory to gain the early advantage.
Main and Gay got things started, grabbing a 6-3 victory on court three versus Alicia Dale and Suzanie Pretorius.
After an Iowa State win on court two, the doubles point came down to Letizia Corsini and Victoria Gomez O'Hayon at the top spot. The duo was able to pick up a 7-6(2) victory to give TCU a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Individual play was all TCU, as the Frogs only dropped two sets on the day en route to three two-set victories against the Cyclones.
Gay got the winning started, picking up a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Julia Camblor to double TCU's advantage.
Ramos Sierra put the Frogs on the doorstep, rallying to earn a 7-5, 6-3 victory against Stanislava Shulzhenko.
No. 80 Raquel Caballero Chica had the clincher at the top spot, earning a ranked win over Mari Paz Vilar, 6-4, 6-4, to earn the Frogs their fifth win of conference play.
Gomez O'Hayon and Main were in competitive matchups before the match concluded.
