No. 12 TCU faces Cougars looking to inch closer to Big 12 title
FORT WORTH – TCU heads to the Texas gulf to challenge Houston in its penultimate regular season road game at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday inside the Fertitta Center.
The Horned Frogs and Cougars are squaring off for the second time in as many weeks. TCU walloped Houston 90-45 on Feb. 4 in Fort Worth.

- The Horned Frogs lead the Big 12 with four games remaining in the regular season for the second straight year.
- TCU is aiming to become the first program in conference history to win two straight regular season championships within three seasons of finishing in last place.
- TCU has won seven of its last 10 Big 12 road games.

- TCU jumped five spots in the latest Associated Press poll after posting back-to-back top-20 wins over then-No. 12 Baylor and No. 19 West Virginia. The Horned Frogs continue to be the Big 12's highest-rated team in the AP Top 25, USA Today Sports Coaches Poll (rank) and NCAA NET rankings (No. 11).
- TCU's other primary goal for the season besides repeating as Big 12 champions is to host first and second round games in the NCAA Tournament, and give itself a shot at playing in the Fort Worth Regional. On Saturday, the Horned Frogs took another step toward achieving that ambition, as TCU received the No. 12 overall seed in the NCAA Selection Committee's first top 16 reveal.
- TCU is two victories away from posting consecutive 25-win seasons for the first time in the history of either Horned Frogs men's or women's basketball.
- Under Mark Campbell, TCU ranks fifth among all D1 programs in winning percentage (.877) and total wins (57) since 2024-25. Campbell's 78 wins as TCU's head man are the sixth-most at the Power Conference level over the past three years.
- Giving grist to TCU's recent dominance, five of the Horned Frogs' seven losses over the last two seasons, including all four in 2025-26. have either been by one possession or come in overtime. TCU has not lost back-to-back games in the last two seasons.
- TCU is allowing just 60 points per game in Big 12 action, the third-fewest among all Power Conference teams in conference affairs. Only Duke (54.6 ppg) and UCLA (58.4 ppg) have better scoring defenses than the Horned Frogs in league play.
- The Frogs have limited nine opponents to their lowest scoring outputs of the season, including five in Big 12 play; BYU, Arizona State, Houston and No. 19 West Virginia (2x).
- The Mountaineers became the 12th opponent unable to score more than 50 points vs. the Horned Frogs' defense.
- Including two of its last three wins over the Cougars, TCU has held 31 teams to or below the 50-point threshold in the Campbell era.
- TCU has held an NCAA-leading 10 opponents at-or-below 30 percent shooting from the field, among them five Big 12 teams; Arizona State, BYU, Houston, UCF and West Virginia.
- TCU's average margin of victory this season is 24 points. The Horned Frogs are one of only seven teams winning their games by 24 points or more.
- TCU and top-ranked UConn are the only teams in the nation scoring at least 75 points per game while holding opponents to no more than 55.5 points per game.
- The Horned Frogs rank fourth and seventh, respectively, across the D1 ranks in field goal percentage defense (.337) and field goal percentage (.486). TCU, alongside UConn, South Carolina and LSU, is one of four teams ranking in the top-10 in both categories.
- Fort Worth is home to the Big 12's highest-scoring duo in Olivia Miles and Marta Suarez, who average a combined 36.4 points per game.
- Miles (20.2 ppg), Suarez (16.2 ppg) and Donovyn Hunter (12 ppg) are the nation's fifth highest-scoring teammate trifecta at 48.4 points per game. The trio combined for 64 points in TCU's 90-45 win over Houston on Feb. 4. Beginning with that game, the three players have collectively scored 60-plus in three of TCU's last four outings.
- Miles (25 points) and Suarez (24 points) single-handedly outscored the Cougars in both halves of the teams' last meeting. The duo tallied 27 first half points to Houston's 22 and finished with 22 in the second half while TCU limited the Cougars to 20 points out of the intermission.
- Miles and Suarez shot a combined 68 percent from the field (19-28), knocked down 4-6 attempts from three and were 7-7 at the foul line in TCU's 45-point walloping of Houston on Feb. 4
- Miles and Suarez took it a step further in TCU's 83-67 win at No. 12 Baylor on Thursday, scoring a combined 67 points - the most by a pair of teammates in a Big 12 game opposite a ranked opponent in league history.
- Including their clinic vs. the Cougars, Miles and Suarez have both tallied at least 20 points and five rebounds in the same game on seven occasions, more than any pair of teammates in college basketball.
- Miles and Suarez are also one the only duo nationwide averaging at least 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and two assists per game.
- Miles, Suarez and Hunter are one of just two trios in college basketball averaging at least 12 points per game while shooting better than 45 percent from the field and 75 percent at the foul line. The only other teammate threesome matching the statistical criteria is UCLA's Gabriela Jaquez, Gianna Kneepkens and Kiki Rice.
- Miles, Suarez and Hunter have put at least 50 points on the board for TCU 13 times, leading TCU to an 11-2 record in those games
- Either Miles or Suarez has led TCU in scoring in 22 games and in 13-of-14 in Big 12 play.

- Bringing Taylor Bigby into the fold, TCU is one of seven teams with four players who have all made at least 35 threes. Suarez (54), Miles (53), Hunter (51) and Bigby (37) are responsible for 78 percent (192-247) of TCU's 3-point offense.
- TCU needs 87 threes to become only the eighth program to make 1,000 over a three-season span.

- Leads all Division I guards in career double-doubles (32) and all active Division I players in career assists per game average (6.6), triple-doubles (10) and '15-5-5' games (38).

- The Horned Frogs last visit to the Fertitta Center is one that will live in infamy. Riding a three-game losing streak ahead of the matchup on Jan. 13, 2024, and already dealing with a host of injuries, including a broken finger for all-conference center Sedona Prince, Jaden Owens tore her ACL and meniscus late in the first quarter. TCU went on to lose the game 77-66 and was forced to hold open tryouts five days later. The loss was a part of a six-week stretch that saw TCU lose nine of 10. Since then, TCU has competed to a 63-11 overall record and morphed into the top team in the Big 12.
- TCU holds an 14-7 advantage in the all-time series following the disbandment of the Southwest Conference in 1996.
