Horned Frogs prime for pair of matchups to kick off month of February
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's tennis team will host a doubleheader between Rice and UT Arlington on Sunday at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
LAST TIME OUT
After weather issues within Texas, the ITA Kickoff first-round matchup between the Frogs and Arizona State was moved to Fort Worth, giving TCU an earlier-than-expected home opener. In the season-opening match between the two conference foes, TCU suffered a 4-2 defeat in Fort Worth.
After dropping the doubles point, the Frogs were unable to regain any momentum and fell to an 0-1 record. Yu-Chin Tsai and No. 103 Cristina Ramos Sierra earned singles victories on the day, with both players proving clutch in tiebreakers to secure two-set wins.
HISTORY VS. THE OWLS
TCU has tallied a 27-13 record in its series history against Rice. The Frogs have won three straight matchups, with the most recent coming last season with a 4-2 victory in Houston. In Fort Worth, TCU has posted a 13-5 ledger.
