TCU travels to last road tournament of the regular season
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Cali. – No. 1 TCU Beach Volleyball (19-3) heads back out west this weekend to compete at the No. 3 Cal Poly's Center of Effort Challenge on Friday and Saturday. Besides the Mustangs and TCU, the tournament will feature six other ranked teams: No. 2 UCLA, No. 4 LMU, No. 5 Stanford, No. 7 Florida State and No. 12 Arizona State.
The Horned Frogs are scheduled to go head-to-head with No. 12 Arizona State, No. 4 LMU and No. 2 UCLA. TCU will have another match following the Bruins. The final round on Saturday evening will include placement matches based on the tournament results, concluding with a championship match at 5:45 p.m. PST.
The Sandy Frogs are once again sitting on top of the AVCA Coaches Poll with the No. 1 ranking. TCU improved its overall record to 19-3 following last weekend's play and is now on a winning streak of 17.
Two Horned Frogs have the potential to hit their 100th career win milestone this weekend: Maria Gonzalez and Ana Vergara.

Scouting the Opposition
This is the third time TCU will play Arizona State who is 17-9 on the season. So far, the Horned Frogs have held their ground, beating the Sun Devils twice. Once on Feb. 21 where they won 4-1 and then again on April 5 with a score of 3-2. TCU leads 5-3 in the all-time series.
The last time TCU saw LMU (26-4) was at the OUTRIGGER Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic on Feb. 21. Back in Feb. the Horned Frogs lost to the Lions 3-2. TCU leads 3-2 in the all-time series.
The meetup on Saturday will be the third time TCU has faced UCLA (24-4) this season. The two each have a win under their belt against each other. The Bruins won at their meetup on Feb. 20, 4-1, while the Horned Frogs won on March 29, 3-0. In the all-time series UCLA leads 6-3.
