
Horned Frogs Roar Past Louisville and into Sweet 16

TCU sets all-time attendance record for women's sporting event in 85-70 win
FORT WORTH – TCU made history twofold on Sunday.
The No. 2 seed Horned Frogs roared past No. 7 Louisville, 85-70, and into the third round of the NCAA Tournament before 7,494 fans at Schollmaier Arena.
TCU (33-3, 16-2 Big 12) advanced to its first Sweet 16 in school history and did so before the largest home crowd to ever attend a TCU women's sporting event. The Frogs also set a TCU women's basketball student attendance record (969 fans) in their 21st and final home victory in 2024-25.
With the win, TCU will rematch No. 3 Notre Dame on Saturday from Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala. TCU rallied from 14 points down to defeat the Fighting Irish 76-68 on Nov. 29 in the Cayman Islands Classic.
Agnes Emma-Nnopu tallied 16 of her team and season-high 23 points in the first half as TCU took a 47-26 lead into the locker room. The Horned Frogs shot 70 percent (19-27) from the floor and 9-13 behind the arc.
Emma-Nnopu and Donovyn Hunter single-handedly outscored the Cardinals (22-11, 13-5 ACC) over the game's opening 20 minutes. Hunter scored 11 of TCU's first 26 points and finished with a season-best 18.
TCU dismantled Louisville's half-court trap and Emma-Nnopu and Hunter were the beneficiaries in the early going. The duo buried 7-8 combined attempts from downtown, with Emma-Nnopu knocking down 4-5.
Hailey Van Lith assisted on seven of TCU's first half makes. Van Lith, who starred at Louisville from 2020-23, turned in a 16-point, 10-assist double-double vs. her former team in her final game at Schollmaier Arena.
TCU outscored the Cardinals 27-9 over the course of the second quarter.
The Horned Frogs maintained a double-digit lead for almost the entirety of the second half despite 41 points from Louisville's Jayda Curry.
Curry scored 15 points over the game's first seven minutes to stake the Cardinals to an early 17-13 edge. TCU bridged a 17-0 run between the first and second quarters and was never seriously threatened from there. Hunter's trio of 3-pointers, including back-to-back to begin the second quarter, accounted for nine of TCU's points.
Consecutive 3-pointers from Madison Conner (nine points) and Emma-Nnopu punctuated the first half.
Van Lith and Sedona Prince combined for 21 second half points.
Louisville twice trimmed TCU's advantage down to nine in the fourth. Prince countered with layups on the Frogs' ensuing offensive possession both times.
Van Lith set up Hunter for a transition three from the right baseline with 1:16 to go to deliver the dagger.
Prince gave TCU four double-digit scorers, tallying 19 points and three blocks.
TCU finished the game 63 percent (29-46) from the field, the second-highest field goal percentage allowed by Louisville over the last 18 years.
