Became the first teammates to post a triple-double in the same game vs. a D1 opponent
FORT WORTH – Schollmaier Arena was the site of a sight previously unseen in NCAA Division I women's basketball history on Tuesday.
Olivia Miles and Marta Suarez became the first pair of teammates to record a triple-double in the same game vs. a Division I opponent in No. 9 TCU's 109-54 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
Suarez ticked the box at the outset of the fourth quarter, departing to a standing ovation with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Miles was up next, as grabbed her 10th rebound with just under 3:30 to go in the Horned Frogs' home nonconference finale. She paired her 10 rebounds with a game-high 25 points and 11 assists.
They are also one of just two D1 teammate tandems to notch triple-doubles in any game vs. any opponent. UT Arlington's Avery Brittingham and Koi Love were the first D1 duo to achieve the feat on Dec. 30, 2024 vs. Wiley College.
Miles' performance was doubly historic. She notched her third straight triple-double, swelling her career tally to nine.
The New Jersey native is now tied for third in NCAA history for career triple-doubles. The only players with more are Sabrina Ionescu (23) and Caitlin Clark.
Miles also became just the third player in the sport's existence at the D1 level to rattle off back-to-back-to-back triple-doubles. Danielle Carson of Youngstown State was the first hooper to achieve the feat circa 1985 and Lamar's Chastadie Barrs did so in 2019.
Just 12 games into the 2025-26 campaign, Miles has already tied Brittney Griner (Baylor) and Shalee Lehning (Kansas State) for the most triple-doubles by a Big 12 player in a single season. She is the first player in league history to notch three straight.
More than half of the triple-doubles authored by a Horned Frog have unfolded over the last 10 days. Prior to Miles' triple-double on Dec. 6 vs. UTEP, there were just three in program history, the last of which transpired in 2011.
Suarez's triple-double was the first of her career. Her previous career-high in assists was six.
TCU, now 12-0 for the second time in three years under head coach Mark Campbell, notched its third-longest winning streak in program history with the victory. The Horned Frogs also overtook No. 2 Texas for the longest active unbeaten streak at home in NCAA Division I at 33 games.
The game was never once competitive. TCU led for all-but-10 seconds.
The Horned Frogs hit their first six shots and started off on a 19-3 run spanning the game's first 5:30. TCU took a 52-22 lead into the locker room.
The Frogs dished out 17 assists in the first half, their most in a half in the Campbell era, and connected at a 60 percent clip the floor (21-35). Miles and Suarez accounted for 11 of TCU's dimes at the intermission. Miles dished out five of her 11 assists in the first quarter.
The Frogs scored 57 second half points, including 33 in the third quarter, to solidify the final margin of victory.
All five starters scored in double figures for the first time this season. Donovyn Hunter pitched in 18 points on 8-10 shooting. Clara Silva eclipsed the 10-point threshold for the second straight game, pairing 14 points with seven rebounds. Taylor Bigby rounded out the quintet with 10 points.
TCU finished the game shooting 63 percent (41-65) from the field and tallied 29 assists, the second-most in a game in program history.
The Frogs converted a 52-18 advantage on the glass into a season-best 64 points in the paint.
TCU finished 19-24 at the foul line.
