
Strong Second Half Pushes TCU over Tarleton in Exhibition

Punch records 15 points and six rebounds
STEPHENVILLE, Texas – A 23-0 run midway through the second half led TCU to an 88-54 win at Tarleton State in an exhibition game Sunday in the opening of the new EECU Center.
TCU, which led for all but the opening two minutes of the game, held a 41-30 advantage with 16:35 remaining in the second half. The Horned Frogs then scored the next 23 points, including eight-straight points by freshman Kayden Edwards. The Fort Worth native finished with 10 points in just under 10 minutes.
Sophomore David Punch finished with a team-high 15 points and six rebounds. The forward showed his range by making his two 3-point attempts. Oregon State transfer Liutauras Lelevicius rounded out TCU's double-figure scorers with 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three.
The starting backcourt duo of Brock Harding and Jayden Pierre finished with four assists each. Pierre had nine points and Harding finished with eight points. Micah Robinson and Tanner Toolson each finished with seven points.
TCU shot 50 percent or better in both halves and finished 50.9 percent for the game. Six different Horned Frogs totaled nine 3-pointers.
After a closed-door scrimmage against Texas on Oct. 26, TCU will open the regular season in Schollmaier Arena on Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. against New Orleans. Tickets are currently on sale through the TCU Ticket Office.
