Preview: ITA Kickoff Weekend

Horned Frogs will begin play against Pacific Saturday at 2 pm
FORT WORTH - The No. 2 ranked TCU men's tennis team is set to host ITA Kickoff Weekend for the 10th straight season.
The Horned Frogs face Pacific at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Preceding the TCU tilt is an 11 a.m. battle between No. 13 Michigan State and Liberty. The winners play on Sunday for a berth in in the ITA Indoor National Championships, which run from Feb. 14-17 on the campuses of SMU and Baylor.
TCU went 2-0 last week via a 7-0 victory over No. 17 Stanford and a 4-1 win at Baylor on Monday. All-Americans Jack Pinnington, Lui Maxted and Pedro Vives returned to action and went a combined 4-0 in singles play. Pinnington had two ranked wins and earned the match-clincher in both victories.
The Frogs have hosted Kickoff Weekend since the 2016 season, advancing to the final site all but once. TCU won back-to-back indoor national championships in 2022 and 2023 and carried a 34 indoor match winning streak into the last season's final before falling to Ohio State, 4-3.
The Fort Worth Region is chock full of professional-level talent. A total of nine players crack the latest ITA singles rankings.
