No. 5 TCU garners their eighth sweep of the season
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIF. – No. 5 TCU went 2-0 on the first day of the Center of Effort Challenge. The Horned Frogs saw a win over No. 7 Long Beach State (3-2) and ended the day with their eighth sweep of the season against Pepperdine.
Individually, six Horned Frogs had a perfect day: Olivia Clines, Anhelina Khmil, Tara Patton, Keagan Polk, Ana Vergara and Morgan Williams.
QUICK HITS AGAINST NO. 7 LONG BEACH STATE
• Hailey Hamlett and Sutton MacTavish finished first from the No. 1 spot: 18-21, 14-21.
• Keagan Polk and Olivia Clines scored the first point for TCU from the No. 5 spot: 21-17, 17-21, 15-9.
• This is the duo's third ranked win together. This is Polk's fifth ranked win this season and Clines' fourth.
• The pairing moved their record to 4-4 on the season.
• Emma Glagau and Anete Namike finished third from the No. 4 position: 21-13, 17-21, 9-15.
• The duo now stands at 0-1 on the season.
• Anhelina Khmil and Ana Vergara tied the match for the Frogs from the No. 2 spot: 21-17, 14-21, 15-11.
• Khmil tallied her 11th ranked win this season and Vergara her eighth. This is the pairing's fourth ranked win together.
• Tara Patton and Morgan Williams clinched the match from the No. 3 spot in an epic two-set battle: 38-36, 21-14.
• The pairing notched their fifth ranked win together. This is Patton's sixth ranked win this season and Williams' seventh.
• This is TCU's first win over Long Beach State in program history. In all-time matchups, the Horned Frogs trail the Beach 2-1.
