
TCU Wraps Up First Day in Lubbock

Three Horned Frogs run the 800m indoor record
LUBBOCK, Texas – Three Horned Frogs ran the school record in the 800m on Day One of the Jarvis Scott Open on Friday in the Sports Performance Center.
Gracie Morris continued her phenomenal season as she broke the school record with her time of 2:05.59 to win the 800m race. Additionally, Tabitha Kalunde Ngao (2:05.61) and Jasmin Muhammad-Graham (2:07.15) ran the second and third fastest 800m times in indoor history. The previous school record was 2:08.54 set by Mariah Castillo in 2020.
Ryan Martin joined Morris for a pair of Horned Frog 800m wins. He ran a personal-best time of 1:48.68 to finish first and improve on his already-third best time in school history. Lloyd Frilot took third (1:50.04) and Giovouni Henry placed fourth (1:50.28) to run the sixth and seventh fastest times in program history, respectively.
Ngao also won the 1000m with her time of 2:51.45. Coming in third was Rylan Engels, whose time of 2:56.86 is the fourth-fastest time in indoor history.
Mariana Martinez (17:40.22) and Peyton McQuillan (18:08.49) finished second and third in the women's 5K, respectively.
In the women's 60m finals, Iyana Gray ran the second-fastest indoor time in school history with her personal-best time of 7.26 to finish third. Mikayla Hayes also placed fourth with her time of 7.32.
David Seete ran to a fourth-place finish in the men's 400m with his season-best time of 46.58 – good for the fourth-fastest time in indoor history. Also notching a top 10 finish was Jayden Douglas with his 400m time of 46.87 to finish seventh.
