Conner Cited as Big 12 Player of the Week

Averaged 28.5 points and shot 13-26 from distance in TCU's wins vs. Samford and UCF
FORT WORTH – Madison Conner cemented her case as the nation's best volume shooter at the outset of conference play and in turn was crowned Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday.
Conner averaged a league-leading 28.5 points along with 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game across the 11th-ranked Horned Frogs' 103-64 and 92-52 wins over Samford and UCF. The senior tallied 20-plus points in the first half of both victories. She shot 50 percent (13-26) from deep.
From Chandler, Ariz., Conner won the award for the second time in her TCU tenure. She first garnered the accolade following the opening week of the 2023-24 campaign.
Conner is now one of four repeat recipients of weekly All-Big 12 recognition in program history alongside teammate Sedona Prince and TCU all-time leading scorers Lauren Heard and Zahna Medley.
TCU (12-1, 1-0 Big 12) has received a league-leading three Big 12 Player of the Week citations seven weeks into the 2024-25 campaign. Prince was twice honored in November.
Conner produced her school record fifth 30-point game in the Frogs' home victory against Samford on Tuesday. She poured in 33 points on the strength of an 8-16 clip behind the arc. Conner converted 7-11 three-pointers in the first half. The 5-11 guard entered the locker room with 23 points, her most ever in a half.
She again led all scorers in TCU's road rout of UCF to begin conference play, tallying 24 points while shooting 5-10 from distance. She netted 20 of her points in the contest's opening 20 minutes to put TCU on pace to earn its largest margin of victory in a Big 12 road game.
Conner became the national leader in 3-pointers (53) and 3-pointers per game (4.1) following her pair of performances. She has tallied an NCAA-leading 12 games with at least five 3-pointers over the last two seasons.
TCU returns to action at 2 p.m. on Sunday vs. Brown (6-6) inside Schollmaier Arena. The Horned Frogs then resume their Big 12 schedule with consecutive home affairs against Colorado and Cincinnati on Jan. 1 and Jan. 4.
