No. 12 TCU opens Big 12 play with visit to Orlando
FORT WORTH – TCU hits the road for its first away affair of the 2024-25 campaign, drawing UCF at 1 p.m. CT in Orlando.
The 12th-ranked Horned Frogs enter their conference opener as the league's highest-ranked team for the first time ever. TCU is also ranked ahead of the start of Big 12 play for the second straight season, a program first.

- The Horned Frogs maintained top 15 placement in The Associated Press poll for three straight weeks for the first time ever with Monday's No. 12 ranking.
- TCU has been the highest ranked Big 12 team in the AP Top 25 for three consecutive polls.
- TCU is eighth in the NCAA NET rankings and has held top-10 positioning for three straight weeks.
- TCU is 4-8 in Big 12 openers. The Frogs defeated BYU, 81-67, on Dec. 30 in Fort Worth in their most recent conference-opening game.

- TCU's latest feature in the AP Top 25 marks the first time the Horned Frogs have boasted a top 20 ranking in five straight polls. The Frogs have now earned five AP Top 25 rankings in a season for just the third time in the program's 48-year existence.
- The Horned Frogs' No. 12 AP Top 25 ranking is the second highest in program history.
- TCU leads the nation in 3-pointers (126). The Frogs went 16-35 from distance in Tuesday's win over Samford, marking the third time this season they've hit 16 triples.
- TCU is the only team in the country to hit 15-plus three-pointers on three occasions thus far in 2024-25. The Horned Frogs also lead the country in games with at least a dozen 3-pointers (seven).
- The Horned Frogs have knocked down 12-or-more 3-pointers 16 times in the last two seasons.
- TCU dished out 20 assists for the eighth time on Tuesday, finishing with 26 against six turnovers.
- TCU is one of three teams ranking in the top-five nationally alongside No. 4 UConn and No. 13 Kansas State in assists (4th, 21.3) and assist-to-turnover ratio (3rd, 1.94).
- The Horned Frogs average seven blocks per game - a mark that ranks third nationally and tops the Big 12 - and rejected seven-plus shots for the eighth time against Samford.
- TCU boasts the nation's second-highest scoring trio in Hailey Van Lith, Sedona Prince and Madison Conner, who average a collective 53 points per game.
- Van Lith (19.5 ppg), Prince (17.5 ppg) and Conner (16 ppg) are one of five D1 trios averaging at least 16 points per game. Two of the three players have tallied 14 points or more in all 11 of TCU's wins.
- Conner and Van Lith have combined for 89 points in TCU's last two victories.
- Conner became TCU men's and women's basketball's all-time leader in career 30-point games with her 33-point clinic vs. Samford. She has delivered five 30-point performances in 39 outings in purple and white.
- Conner shot 8-16 from distance in Tuesday's win, marking the fifth time she has hit at least seven 3-pointers in a game as a Frog. She connected on 7-11 attempts behind the arc in the first half.
- Conner ranks first nationally in 3-pointers (48) and 3-pointers per game (4.0) .
- Conner leads the nation in games with at least five 3-pointers over the last two seasons with 11.
- Van Lith is the only player in the country ranking in the top-10 in assists (5th, 77), assist-to-turnover ratio (8th, 3.5) and assists per game (10th, 6.4).
- Van Lith has finished with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.5 or better seven times this season. She dished out eight dimes against zero turnovers on Tuesday.
- Van Lith is also one of three D1 basketball players and the lone competitor at the Power Conference level averaging at least 19 points, five assists and 4.5 rebounds per game.
- Van Lith is averaging 21 points per game over her last seven outings. She has led TCU in scoring in seven of its last eight games and eight times total this season.
- Prince averages 1.14 points per possession, making her the country's third-most efficient offensive player, trailing only Paige Bueckers (1.19) and Penn State's Gracie Merkle (1.17).
- Prince continues to lead the NCAA in blocks per game (3.8).
- Prince is the lone D1 player averaging at least 17 points, nine rebounds and three blocks per game.
- Agnes Emma-Nnopu has started TCU's last two games, playing a stretch four role. She is averaging 10 rebounds per game in her three starts this season. Emma-Nnopu snagged a career-high 14 boards in Tuesday's win.
- Donovyn Hunter has averaged 11 points over her last two outings, serving as TCU's sixth player. The sophomore netted a TCU career high 14 points on 6-8 shooting against Samford.

- TCU trailed 56-51 with eight minutes to go in last season's win. The Frogs closed the game on a 9-0 run, holding the Knights scoreless over the final 4:16. TCU harassed UCF into a turnover on five of its final seven possessions.
- Aaliyah Roberson tallied 17 points on 8-10 shooting and earned her first career start at the five vs. the Knights in January.
- Agnes Emma-Nnopu finished with 10 points and eight rebounds in her first encounter with UCF. She went 4-4 at the foul line over the final 18 seconds.
- TCU played its second-ever game as a Big 12 affiliate opposite the Knights in its 61-55 home win on Nov. 16, 2012. Zahna Medley, TCU's all-time four-year leading scorer led the way with 15 points.
