
Grundsoee Leads TCU Past Ohio State

TCU posts five of the top 10 aggregate marks
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 ranked TCU Horned Frogs rolled to another solid score on the range as they defeated Ohio State 4,730-4,717 Sunday at Converse Hall. Stephanie Grundsoee led the way, firing the top marks in both disciplines and matched her season-high 1,191 aggregate mark.
Despite missing two of its regular counters in Jeanne Haverhill and Katie Zaun, who are away at an international competition, the Horned Frogs did not miss a beat. TCU fired its third-best smallbore score of the season, shooting a 2,353. TCU added a 2,377 in air rifle to account for the final score.
The Frogs turned in five of the top eight aggregate marks in the match. Behind Grundsoee's first-place finish, Nina Schuett finished fourth at 1,181. Mikole Hogan (1,180), Stephanie Allan (1,178) and Anne White (1,172) rounded out the top eight.
TCU fired five of the top eight smallbore tallies in the match. Grundsoee led all shooters, tying her career-high with a 594. Hogan finished fourth after shooting a 588. Schuett and Allan contributed a 586 and a 585, respectively, to the team score. White finished the morning with a 581 to sit eighth.
Kaylynn Slaughter and Gianna Yokoe made the most of the first road trip of the season. Slaughter fired a career-high 578 in smallbore, while Yokoe also turned in a personal-best, shooting a 575.
In air rifle, the Frogs shot five of the top eight marks. Schuett tied her season-high, firing a 595 to finish fourth. Allan contributed a 593 followed by Hogan's 592 and White's 591.
Annie Downum had a strong effort in the discipline, tying her career-high with a 590.
Ohio State shot a 2,344 in smallbore and a 2,373 in air rifle to account for hits final score. The Buckeyes we led by Viktor Kiss in both disciplines. He finished second in the match with an aggregate of 1,185.
TCU returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 28 at The Citadel.
