
TCU Finishes As National Runner-Up

Hogan and Zaun qualify for the final
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The TCU women's rifle finished the 2025-26 season as the National Runner-Up after a strong showing in air rifle on Day 2 of the NCAA Championships. The Horned Frogs fired a team score of 2,387 in the disciple. Combined with its 2,354 in smallbore, the Frogs shot a 4,741 for the match.
Five teams were within striking distance at the start of the day. West Virginia took home the title after shooting a 2,395 in air rifle for a championship-winning score of 4,748. Ole Miss (4,738), Kentucky (4,736) and Nebraska (4,736) rounded out the Top 5. Navy finished sixth with a score of 4,722 followed by Alaska Fairbanks (4,718) and Georgia Southern (4,717).
In the final match of their TCU careers, Katie Zaun and Mikole Hogan qualified for the individual finals. Hogan finished fifth with a 187.3, while Zaun finished sixth after shooting a 166.2 in the finals
TCU opened the match with three solid scores in air rifle. Hogan matched her career high with a 598. Her 53 center shots helped her qualify for the individual final. Rylie Passmore fired a 596 and Christina Hillinger contributed a 595.
Two more strong scores followed in the second relay. Zaun shot a 598 with 55 center shots to help her qualify individually. Fedora shot a 595.
For the match, TCU had two of the top nine individual shooters. Zaun was third individually with an aggregate score of 1,191. Hogan finished ninth with an aggregate of 1,188.
The runner-up finish is the seventh in program history joining its four National Championships.
