
TCU Finishes First At The Citadel

Allan leads all shooters in both disciplines
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite missing three regulars in the lineup, the No. 2-ranked TCU Horned Frogs finished first at The Citadel, firing a team score of 4,698. Six of seven TCU shooters posted top 10 aggregate scores.
TCU fired a 2,328 in smallbore and a 2,370 in air rifle en route to the win. The Citadel mixed team shot a 4,600 (2,280 smallbore; 2,320) and the women's squad finished with a 4,387 (2,126 smallbore; 2,261 air rifle).
Stephanie Allan had a strong day on the range, leading all shooters with a 589 in smallbore and a 595 in air rifle. Her 1,184 aggregate score was tops in the field.
Mikole Hogan finished second with an aggregate of 1,180 followed by Nina Schuett in third (1,174). Anne White was fifth with a 1,159, while Kaylynn Slaughter, serving as a counter for the first time in her career, fired a 1,158 to finish seventh. Gianna Yokoe rounded out the top 10 with an 1,148 aggregate
The Frogs produced six of the top 10 smallbore scores in the match. Along with Allan's 589, Hogan contributed a 587 and Schuett a 581. White finished seventh with a 571.
While not factoring in the team score, Yokoe matched her career high with a 575 in smallbore.
The trio of Allan (595), Hogan (593) and Schuett (593) again turned in the top three scores in a discipline, helping the Frogs to a strong air rifle score. Slaughter finished fifth and contributed a 589 to the final score.
White (588) finished sixth and Annie Downum rounded out the top 10 with a 583.
TCU will head to The X Count in Fort Wayne, Ind. Feb. 3-4 for the Patriot Rifle Conference Championship. The match will feature Air Force, Alaska, Nebraska, Ohio State and UTEP. The squads will shoot smallbore on Saturday before closing out the championships with air rifle on Sunday.
