Kirbo Shines on Day One of Corky Classic

The Corky Classic continues on Saturday, Jan. 20.
LUBBOCK, Texas – TCU wrapped up competition on Day One of the Corky Classic on Friday night at the Sports Performance Center.
For the second time in as many weeks, Benjamin Kirbo broke his own school record in the pole vault. The sophomore jumped 5.20m (17-0.75) and finished fifth among collegiate athletes.
Kyler Van Grouw set a massive personal-best in the weight throw. He finished seventh overall with his lifetime-best 16.25m (53-3.75), good for sixth on TCU's all-time indoor list.
Jill Johnson (1.67m) and Jade Ferrell (1.67m) finished eighth and ninth in the women's high jump, respectively. Serina Ramirez also took ninth in the women's weight throw with her mark of 14.66m.
In the men's high jump, Isaac Narri finished 15th with his height of 1.85m (6-0.75).
