
Kirbo, Morris Rewrite School Records in Season Opener

TCU won four events at the McFerrin 12 Degree Invitational
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Horned Frogs kicked off the season with four event wins at the McFerrin 12 Degree Invitational on Saturday.
Benjamin Kirbo got the day started for TCU with his record-setting 5.18m (17-0) in the pole vault. The sophomore broke his own school record with his winning height.
Also breaking her own school record was Gracie Morris. She placed first in the mile with her new personal-best time of 4:39.07 in her first race of the season.
Graydon Morris placed first in the 3K with his time of 8:16.89, good for the fourth-fastest time in program history. Rylan Engels also won the 800m with the fifth-fastest time in program history (2:11.68) in her first collegiate win.
In her Horned Frog debut, Teanna Harlin placed second overall in the 200m with her time of 23.50 – the fourth fastest indoor time in program history. She also placed fifth and ran the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 60m dash with her time of 7.37.
Jasmin Muhammad-Graham earned silver in the women's 600m with her time of 1:31.34. David Seete (1:17.54) placed third in the men's 600m.
Jaren Holmes had a strong performance in the long jump as he finished second with his leap of 7.61m (24-11.75). With his jump of 14.88m (48-10), Damilare Olukosi also took second in the triple jump.
Iyana Gray picked up right where she left off last season as she took third in the 60m (7.33). Gray, along with Dreunna Washington, Tia Williams and Sasha Crawford, also placed third in the 4x400 relay with their time of 3:44.04.
Giovouni Henry did not disappoint in his TCU debut as he finished third in the men's 800m (1:53.02). In the women's 400m, Tia Williams shined in her Horned Frog debut with her third-place time of 56.45.
Jais Smith clocked a 6.73 to place third in the 60m. In the women's triple jump, Ke'Yona Gabriel finished third with her jump of 11.89m (39-0.25). Kyler Van Grouw notched a third-place finish in the men's weight throw with his mark of 14.86m (48-9). Rounding out the third-place finishers was Tabitha Kalunde Ngao with her time of 4:52.38 in the women's mile.
