Castain scores in 87th minute
FORT WORTH - Seven Castain's game-winner in the 87th minute earned TCU a 1-0 victory over Texas A&M on Sunday night. Lauren Kellett notched a season-high seven saves in the shutout.
The Rundown
In the 87th minute, AJ Hennessey beat an Aggie defender on the end line and found Seven Castain on the doorstep for the tap-in goal and the eventual game-winner.
After a prolonged weather delay to start the game, the Horned Frogs came out aggressive, outshooting the Aggies 5-4 in the first half. Three of the shots found their way on frame. Castain had the best opportunity, firing a high shot from just inside the 18 that was blocked down by the Aggie keeper in the 12th minute.
In the 23rd minute, Lauren Kellett came off her line and made a diving stop on an attacking Aggie. Kellett finished the first half with three saves.
In the second half, Kellett put the Frogs on her back making four saves in the final 13 minutes. The Aggies drew a penalty kick in the 78th. Maile Hayes took the PK and fired it to the left of the net but it was stopped by a diving Kellett. Her follow-up shot was also stopped by Kellett.
Just two minutes later, Kellett had to make back-to-back saves on a rush downfield by the Aggies. She stopped the initial shot and dove back to corral the rebound shot as well keeping the game scoreless and setting up Castain's late game heroics.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
Overall thoughts
"I think they're all going to be like this. I'm really proud of our group for the fight that we had. We've been talking about putting two halves together and I thought today was the first game we did that this season. That gave us an opportunity to be successful. I'm so proud of the group and I'm really proud of AJ and Seven for combining for a goal. I'm even more proud of Lauren Kellett and the job she did to keep us in the game. She had the big PK saves and she had to make two more in order to keep a clean sheet. It was awesome. Total team effort."
On Lauren Kellett's play in the game
"Yeah, she was fantastic. She had to come off her line a couple of times and clean up some things behind the back line, but steady Eddy. You know, she's a big time senior and she's showing that right now."
On moving forward after tonight
"Hopefully it provides a springboard for us to continue to grow. We're still trying to figure it all out with the lineup and what makes the most sense. But we're happy with the fight that we had for 90 minutes today."
