
Preview: Women's Tennis at Home for Three Matches in Three Days

Kansas St., SMU and Kansas head to Ft. Worth
FORT WORTH: The No. 56 TCU women's tennis team are back at home for a triple header with two conference matches and the battle of DFW this weekend at the Bartzen Vasity Courts. The Frogs will start the weekend with Kansas State on Friday, March 24. SMU will make the 45-minute trip to Fort Worth on Saturday, March 25. TCU will conclude the weekend with Kansas for the Sunday matinee on March 26.
The Horned Frogs (7-4) have protected home court this season going 7-1 this spring. Including big wins versus Alabama and Ole Miss, TCU has taken advantage of their eight home matches this season.

Ranked Frogs:
As it stands, TCU has the No. 67 doubles team in the country. Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai are currently holding a 6-3 duos record. Captain Mercedes Aristegui improved her resume appearing in the latest ITA singles rankings coming in at No. 123 in the country with an overall record of 7-1. Earlier this year, she defeated the No. 73 ranked singles player leading her to Conference honors. She was named Big 12 player of the week on Feb. 7, the second of her career. Tiphanie Lemaitre also earned a ranked win, knocking off the No. 75 ranked singles player in the country.
World Respect:
The TCU Women's Tennis program has multiple players currently sitting atop the world's best. Currently, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has Lemaitre at No. 389 in the world for her doubles play. In singles, the transfer is No. 514 in the world. Aristegui has been recognized for her performance on a world stage with a top 1000 rank in singles at 983 and 1147 in doubles. Jade Otway holds a singles position of 940 in the world.
Scouting the Wildcats:
Kansas State is 2-14 this season with wins versus Kansas City and Florida Atlantic. The Wildcats are currently 0-4 in conference play so far this season and are led by sophomore Florentine Dekkers who comes into Fort Worth with eight singles wins on the season. She is coming off a ranked victory over No. 92 Isabella Harvison of West Virginia (7-6, 7-5).
Scouting the Mustangs:
No. 62 SMU comes into Fort Worth with an overall record of 8-6. The Mustangs' highlight win of the season came against No. 45 Arkansas, 4-3. SMU currently have a doubles pair and a singles player featured in latest ITA rankings. Hadley Doyle is the current 112 best singles player in the nation posting an overall record of 22-7 and 5-3 in dual play. Each one of her dual match singles triumphs have been acquired on court No. 1. Jackie Nylander and Taylor Johnson lead their team with a 5-3 record on the first court in doubles play. The duo ranks No. 37 in the nation.
Scouting the Jayhawks:
No. 20 Kansas currently holds an 11-3 record in the 2023 season, sporting five ranked wins. Kansas is 2-2 thus far in conference play acquiring wins against the Baylor and West Virginia. The Jayhawks have a doubles team and a singles player slotted in the latest ITA rankings. At No. 56 Kansas' Malkia Ngounoue has 14 wins on the year in singles play six in dual match play. Ngounoue and Heike Janse Van Vuuren hold the No. 61 spot in the doubles rankings with a record of 6-2 in the spring all of which have come on the No. 1 court.
