
Frogs Fall at No. 20 Iowa State

AMES, Iowa – The Horned Frogs fell 84-56 to the No. 20 Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday night in Hilton Coliseum. Tomi Taiwo led the Frogs with 13 points.
The Rundown
TCU had a stellar first quarter, matching the Cyclones on nearly every bucket. A Tara Manumaleuga layup gave the Frogs a 6-2 lead with 7:51 remaining in the first quarter. Collectively, TCU shot .538 (7-of-13) from the field in the first quarter with Roxane Makolo scoring seven of her eventual nine points.
TCU continued to maintain their lead until approximately two minutes remained in the first quarter. Tied at 17, the Cyclones ended the first frame on an 8-1 scoring run to give themselves a 25-18 lead.
TCU was outscored 22-6 in the second quarter and 23-10 in the third quarter to give the Cyclones a 70-34 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
In the fourth quarter, TCU outscored the Cyclones 22-14 to cut the deficit. TCU shot .467 in the final period (7-of-15) while also going 7-of-9 (.778) from the free throw line.
