
TCU Comes Up Short at Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – TCU fell 66-49 to Texas Tech on Wednesday night at the United Supermarkets Arena. Lucy Ibeh scored a team-leading 14 points while shooting 1.000 (7-of-7) from the field.
The Rundown
TCU started off strong in the first quarter with five points from Bella Cravens. She made a jumper that pulled TCU within two points with 4:45 remaining in the first quarter. At the end of the first frame, TCU trailed by five.
Texas Tech outscored TCU 21-7 in the second quarter to put them down 37-18 at half. Despite trailing by 21, TCU fought back in the third quarter and outscored the Red Raiders 14-12. Tomi Taiwo scored seven of her nine points in the third period, including shooting 3-of-6 from the field.
TCU's offense started to score in the fourth quarter. With 5:50 remaining, Tara Manumaleuga scored a driving layup to pull the Horned Frogs within 12 points. An Emily Fisher 3-pointer with 3:07 remaining cut Texas Tech's lead to its smallest since the beginning of the second quarter, but the Red Raiders matched TCU's scoring to prevent the comeback.
Lucy Ibeh tallied 14 points while shooting 7-of-7 from the field. Bella Cravens, Tara Manumaleuga and Tomi Taiwo each added nine points.
