Frogs Fall, 4-0
Coming into the match with a 6-1 record, the Horned Frogs (6-2) fought until the end to take a point in Orlando but came up short as the Golden Knights (5-3) took home the victory.
After losing the doubles point early in the match, the Horned Frogs had to fight back for points. No. 44 doubles duo of Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai dropped their first doubles loss of the season, 6-1. Jade Otway and Mercedes Aristegui tried to keep the Horned Frogs doubles point alive but fell 6-2.
The Horned Frogs took three of the six first set points in the singles matches, but the Knights would not go away easily.
On court No.1, Tiphanie Lemaitre started with a 6-1 opening set win against No. 31 Marie Mattel. Lemaitre lost the second set 6-4, then was unable to finish her third set. Similarly on court No. 2, Mercedes Aristegui won her first set 6-3, then was unable to finish her second set. UCF singles points came on courts No. 3, 5 and 6. Jade Otway dropped both sets 6-3, 6-2, as did Helena Narmont (6-2, 6-2), and Yu-Chin Tsai (6-3, 6-3).
Up Next: The Horned Frogs return to action on Monday, March 6, as they take on Richmond at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.
