TCU fires fifth-highest team score in program history
LINCOLN, Neb. – No. 1 TCU remained perfect on the season with another solid effort on the range. The Horned Frogs fired a team score of 4,744, the fifth-highest in program history.
The Frogs shot the third-highest mark in air rifle, shooting a 2,389 in addition to a 2,355 in smallbore. The Frogs produced five of the top seven marks in the match. Julie Johannessen led all shooters with an aggregate mark of 1,192. Stephanie Grundsoee finished second with an 1,190. Katie Zaun sat fourth (1,183), Abigail Gordon was sixth (1,178) and Kristen Hemphill seventh (1,176).
TCU turned in five of the top seven marks in smallbore en route to shooting a team score of 2,355. Grundsoee and Johannessen both fired a match-high 593 in the discipline. Zaun contributed a 587 followed by a 582 from Hemphill and a 581 from Gordon.
The Frogs posted the top four marks in air rifle and all five shooters fired a 594 or better in the match. Johannessen led the field with a 599 followed by Grundsoee (597), Gordon (597) and Zaun (596). Hemphill finished eighth with a 594.
