TCU enters the weekend ranked No. 2
FORT WORTH – The No. 2 ranked TCU women's rifle team is set to conclude the fall portion of their schedule Sunday when they host No. 9 Ole Miss. The match is slated to get underway at 9 a.m. at the TCU Rifle Range.
The Horned Frogs have put together a solid fall season, leading the nation with a 2,384.29 season average in air rifle and ranking second nationally in smallbore season average at 2,352.00. Overall, the Frogs' 4,736.29 aggregate average is second in the nation.
Katie Zaun continues to be a dominate force on the NCAA landscape. She sits seventh in air rifle average (597.50), but is averaging a 598 over her last four outings. In smallbore, she sits fourth nationally with a season average of 591.83. Overall, she is fifth nationally with an aggregate average of 1,189.33.
The Frogs have plenty of talent to go around. The lineup features six other shooters that rank in the top 50 nationally in air rifle season average. Mackenzie Kring (25th, 595.29), Alexandra Rosenlew (27th, 595.00) and Rylie Passmore (28th, 594.86) have had strong fall campaigns.
In smallbore, TCU boasts five shooters in the top 31 nationally. Rosenlew is tied for 15th with a season average of 587.60. Fedora is 20th nationally with a 587.00 average and Passmore is tied for 27th with a 585.86 season average.
Ole Miss enters the weekend with season averages of 2,345.00 in smallbore and 2,373.33 in air rifle. In smallbore, the Rebles are led by Aubrey Gogniat's 594.00 average, which is second nationally. Gogniat also paces the squad with a 598.5 air rifle season average, which is also second nationally. Her season aggregate average of 1,192.50 also ranks second nationally. For the Buckeyes, this is just their fourth match of the season.
