Fedora shoots career-high in air rifle
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The No. 4 TCU women's rifle team had another strong day on the range with a 4,732-4,707 win over No. 3 West Virginia. Marissa Fedora turned in a career-high air rifle score, while Micah Hames matched her career high in aggregate score (1,180).
The Horned Frogs fired a 2,348 in smallbore and a 2,384 in air rifle, topping West Virginia (2,329 smallbore; 2,378 air rifle) in both disciplines.
TCU produced five of the top six aggregate scores in the match. Fedora led all shooters with a 1,183 with a match-high 86 center shots. Rylie Passmore matched Fedora's 1,183 aggregate score to finish second. Christina Hillinger and Mikole Hogan each fired a 1,181 to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. Micah Hames was sixth with an aggregate score of 1,180.
In smallbore, TCU produced five of the top seven scores. Hogan matched her season high and led all shooters with a 591. Passmore fired a 588 to finish second. Fedora and Hames each fired a 585 to round out the top five. For Hames, the 585 matched her career-high. Hillinger's 584 was the final contribution to the team score.
Fedora's 598 with 53 center shots was the match's top score in air rifle. Overall, TCU turned in five of the top seven scores in the discipline. Hillinger finished third with a 597. Passmore contributed a 595 and Mackenzie Kring a 594 to the team score. Not factoring in the team score was Hames' 595, which matched her season high.
TCU will shoot its final match of the fall on Sunday, Nov. 16 when it hosts Ole Miss.
