Hogan sets career high aggregate score
FORT WORTH – Despite coming up short in the dual against No. 9 Ole Miss, the No. 2 TCU Women's rifle team fired a score of 4,739. It's the third-best mark of the season for the Horned Frogs. Mikole Hogan had a career-day on the line, matching her career-highs in air rifle (598) and smallbore (592) to set a career-high 1,190 aggregate mark.
The Frogs shot a 2,361 in the smallbore, the sixth-best mark in program history. They added a 2,378 in air rifle. Ole Miss fired a 2,359 in smallbore, but fired a 2,385 in air rifle to make up the deficit and secure the 4,744-,4739 win.
TCU produced six of the top-10 aggregate scores in the match. Hogan's career-high was second in the match. Katie Zaun (1,184) and Alexandra Rosenlew (1,184) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Christina Hillinger's 1,183 was seventh while Rylie Passmore's 1,181 was ninth. Meredith Stuart capped a career-day with a 10th place finish after shooting a (1,181).
Along with Hogan in smallbore, Passmore shot a career-high in the discipline with a 591. Rosenlew and Zaun fired identical marks of 589 to account for the team score.
Not factoring in the team score, but having solid performances in smallbore were Stuart, who shot a career-high 587 and Ziva Swick, who matched her season-high with a 582.
Hogan's 598 in air rifle was second among all shooters. Also contributing to the team score were Zaun and Rosenlew with identical marks of 595. Passmore fired a 590 to round out the counting scores.
The second air rifle relay saw a number of Frogs set or tie career highs. Mackenzie Kring established a career-high with 599 and finished first in the discipline thanks to 52 center shots. Brooklyn Reames (594) and Stuart (594) also set career-highs in the discipline. Swick matched her career high with a 597, while Annie Downum tied her season-high with a 591.
Ole Miss' Gracie Dinh led all shooter with an aggregate of 1,190 that featured 88 center shots. Audrey Gogniat led the smallbore field with a 593, while Dinh was second in air rifle with a 599 that produced 50 center shots.
TCU will return to action on Jan. 18 when it hosts Ohio State and Schreiner University.
