TCU advances to semifinals for second time in program history
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- No. 2 TCU beach volleyball (37-2) defeated Tulane Thursday afternoon to advance to the semifinal of the CCSA Conference Invitational in Huntsville, Ala. This is the second time in program history that the Horned Frogs have made it to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
Thursday's victory is the 16th time this season the Horned Frogs have swept an opponent. The Frogs also tallied their eighth straight set sweep of the season with their victory over the Green Wave. TCU won all 10 of the 10 sets played today.
"The day went well, and we did what we had to do," Head Coach Hector Gutierrez said. "We took care of business today and the girls were really focused on Tulane. This has been our moto of the year, take it one match at a time and don't worry about what comes next. This has been the mentality we want and is what we are going to have for the rest of the tournament. We are so stoked to be in the semifinals, and it is something that we have been waiting for a long time. We are looking forward to the game tomorrow, to hopefully win and then be in the finals Saturday."
