TCU Looks for Home Win Over Ranked Opponent
FORT WORTH -- TCU women's tennis (8-4) is aiming for its first ranked win of the season when the Horned Frogs host No. 29 California-Santa Barbara (7-5) tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. TCU is 8-1 on the purple courts this season, winning seven of those nine matches via sweeps.

TCU is a perfect 9-0 in doubles points on the home courts this season, after winning the doubles point in the last match against Memphis with wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 pairings. The Horned Frogs are now 18-3 in doubles matches on the purple courts this season and have won their last seven matches in a row.
In singles play, the Frogs are looking to bounce back after dropping the first four completed matches against Memphis for its first home defeat of 2022. TCU still boasts an impressive 26-5 record in home singles matches this season, led by freshman Jade Otway. Otway has been dominant on the purple courts this season, posting a 6-1 record and outscoring her opponents 105-51.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
UCSB enters the match with a 7-5 record, winning its last two matches over USC and Texas Tech. The Gauchos took down TTU, 5-2, at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in a neutral site match on Friday. It was their third Power 5 victory of the season along with a 4-3 victory over USC and a 7-0 sweep of Washington State.
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between the two schools. The series is tied, 2-2, with UCSB taking the last match, a 4-1 victory in Orlando, Fla. back in 2020. Senior Stevie Kennedy recorded her first-career victory at No. 1 singles in that match.
