The Horned Frogs claim their second top-5 victory of the season over No. 4 Florida State

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- No. 2 TCU beach volleyball (22-0) remains perfect after day one of the LSU Beach Invitational in Baton Rouge. The Horned Frogs defeated Louisiana Monroe, 5-0, Houston Baptist, 4-1, and No. 4 Florida State, 4-1. This is the second time in program history that the Frogs have taken down a top-5 ranked opponent. The Horned Frogs notch their 10^th perfect day this season.

QUICK HITS AGAINST Louisiana Monroe:

Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno won in two sets at the No. 1 position: 21-13, 21-11.
With this victory, the duo notched their 45th collegiate career victory as a pairing.
Sutton MacTavish and Kaylie McHugh also claimed straight set victory over the Warhawks: 21-9, 21-10.
23 points is the largest margin of victory on the day by any Horned Frog pairing.
Riding a 9-game winning streak, the duo improved to 9-2 as a pairing.
Alexis Filippone and Hailey Brockett took a two-set victory from the No. 3 position: 21-18, 21-9.
The duo notched their 9th win this season as a pairing.

TCU notched their second top-5 victory of the season over No. 4 FSU. This is the second time the Horned Frogs went toe-to-toe with the Seminoles and this time, improved from a 3-2 to a 4-1 victory.
Riding a 13-game winning streak, Alvarez and Moreno won in straight sets at the No. 1 position: 23-21, 21-17.
The duo notches their 20^th win of the season.
The pairing also achieves 20 career ranked wins with the victory over the Seminoles.
Filippone and Brockett won in two-sets at the No. 3 position: 21-19, 21-14.
Brockett notches her 70^th career win with her victory over FSU.

Gonzalez and Vergara won in three sets over FSU's No. 4 pairing.
