Berry leads Frogs in rebounds, assists and steals
WACO, Texas – Lauren Heard scored 18 points and Michelle Berry had a team-high eight rebounds, but a second-half surge helped lead the No. 7-ranked Baylor Bears past the TCU Horned Frogs Wednesday evening at the Ferrell Center.
THE RUNDOWN
TCU used an early 8-0 run to take an 8-4 lead and then proceeded to lead for nearly 11 and a half minutes in the first half, but the Bears closed out the second quarter with a 13-2 run and took a 33-30 lead into the halftime break.
The Horned Frogs managed to get back into the game with back-to-back buckets from Heard and Berry, tying things up at 42-all with 5:09 left to play in the third quarter, but that is when Baylor kicked it into another gear, outscoring the Frogs the rest of the way out. A Bears 9-0 run to end the frame pushed the home team's lead up to double-digits and TCU's deficit was too large to comeback from.
FROG FACTS
• TCU starters for a fourth straight game were Okako Adika, Tara Manumaleuga, Michelle Berry, Kayla Mokwuah and Lauren Heard.
