Horned Frogs extend their program record for most sweeps in a season to 10

GULF SHORES, ALA. -- No. 7 TCU beach volleyball (23-6) extended the program record for most sweeps in a season to 10 after taking down Southern Miss, 5-0, and Tulane, 3-0, at the FSU Invitational in Gulf Shores, Ala.. The Horned Frogs ended the tournament, 2-2, after dropping a pair of matches to Florida State. They end the regular season with a new program record, 23 victories.

Hailey Brockett set a program record this weekend with her 21st career ranked win, taking down No. 4 FSU on court two (21-14, 15-21, 15-8).

QUICK HITS:

For the first day of tournament play, the Frogs experienced three rain delays and a 3-0 win over Tulane.
Top three pairings Alvarez/Moreno, Blackburn/Brockett, and Scott/Gonzalez scored the three points for TCU.
The Horned Frogs are 3-0 against the Green Wave this season.
On Sunday, the Frogs tried to pull out the comeback victory against FSU. Blackburn/Brockett and Scott/Gonzalez were the only two pairings to score against the Seminoles.
Two points against the Seminoles is the most the Frogs have ever scored against FSU in program history.
The match victory against FSU allowed Brockett to set a new program record for career ranked wins. She sets the record at 21, surpassing her old teammate and partner Avery Arellano (20 ranked wins).
The Frogs rounded out tournament prelims with a 5-0 sweep over Southern Miss.
TCU is 2-0 over Southern Miss. with both matchups resulting in 5-0 victories for the Horned Frogs.
Tournament finals led to the second matchup against FSU where the Frogs lost 1-4 to the Seminoles.
Alvarez/Moreno scored the only point for TCU at the No.1 position.
Daniela and Tania secured their 10th ranked victory as a pair to tie teammate Hailey Brockett and Avery Arellano for most ranked wins in a single season.
Blackburn/Brockett led the Horned Frogs with three victories together over the weekend including their first No. 1 victory together in TCU's 5-0 sweep of Southern Miss.
