TCU Sweeps SFA and ULM to finish the Fight in the Fort with four 5-0 sweeps

FORT WORTH -- No. 10 TCU beach volleyball (14-3) polished off the Fight in the Fort with two more 5-0 sweeps on Saturday on the TCU Sand Volleyball Courts. The Horned Frogs defeated Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Monroe to finish a near perfect weekend with four 5-0 sweeps, only dropping one of the 21 sets played.

TCU has now won five consecutive matches via 5-0 sweeps for the first time in program history and have won 41 of their last 43 sets played. The Horned Frogs have won half of their matches this season in clean sweeps and six of their eight home matches.

QUICK HITS AGAINST SFA:
●          Tara Patton and Trinity Cavanaugh scored the first point for the Horned Frogs, winning in two sets at the No. 4 position: 21-14, 21-12.
●          It was the fourth time this season that the pair has scored TCU's first point since the Cavanaugh and Patton were paired up last weekend.
●          Caroline White and Meghan Jacobsen put TCU in front, 2-0 with a win in three sets at the No. 5 position: 19-21, 21-15, 15-9.
●          This was the duo's first appearance and first victory as a pair.
●          Their three-set victory concluded the programs best set win streak at 27.
●          Rochelle Scott and Maria Gonzalez secured the win for the Frogs in a two-set victory at the No. 3 position: 21-11, 21-14.
●          It was their 10th victory together.
●          Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno Mateeva tallied the next point for TCU, winning in two sets at the No. 1 position: 21-10, 21-13.
●          The duo improves continues to lead the team with a 14-2 record this season, all at No. 1.
●          Hailey Brockett and Olivia Blackburn polished off the sweep, winning in two sets at the No. 2 position: 21-17, 21-9.
●          Hayley Boll and Lauren Turner won an exhibition match, 21-11, 21-8. The win did not count toward the dual score and will not be reflected in their career records.

QUICK HITS AGAINST ULM:
●          Patton and Cavanaugh earned the first point for TCU for the second time today, winning in two sets at the No. 4 position: 21-14, 21-12.
●          The duo improves to 6-2 as a pair, with five of those wins resulting in the first Horned Frog point.
●          Westendorff and Miller scored the second point for the Frogs winning in two sets at the No. 5 position: 21-18, 21-10.
●          This is the duo's first appearance and victory as a pair.
●          Alvarez and Moreno secured the Horned Frog victory at the No. 1 position winning in two sets: 21-17, 21-14.
●          This is the fourth time this season that the duo has clinched a TCU victory.
●          The Spanish freshman phenoms, Alvarez/Moreno, are now on a seven-game winning streak.
●          This is their seventh undefeated day together.
●          They notched their team-leading 15th win of the season. They are now 15-2 as a pair.
●          Blackburn and Brockett scored the next point at the No. 2 position, winning in two sets: 21-19, 21-18.
●          They improve to 14-1 as a pair, the best winning percentage on the team.
●          This is also their 7th win in a row together, all at the No. 2 position.
●          Scott and Gonzalez brought in the final point for TCU at the No. 3 position, winning in two sets: 21-16, 21-17.
●          The duo is now 11-1 as a pair, with all 11 of their victories coming in straight sets.
●          The ULM victory puts TCU on a 5 game, 5-0, winning streak.
●          The team has won 5-0 seven times this season.

Up Next
The Horned Frogs will hope to continue the streak next weekend as they hit the road for another road tournament against ranked opponents. TCU will be playing in a tournament hosted by No. 16 South Carolina, where they will battle the Gamecocks, No. 17 Georgia State, No. 14 Stetson and No. 2 Florida State.
