TCU Sweeps Both Matches on Day One of Fight in the Fort

TCU Sweeps TAMUK and ULM 5-0

FORT WORTH -- No. 10 TCU beach volleyball (12-3) swept both opponents on day one of the Fight in the Fort on the TCU Sand Volleyball Courts in Fort Worth. TCU defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville and ULM, 5-0. The Horned Frogs won both matches without dropping a set, marking the first 20-0 day in program history.

TCU used the same five pairings across both matches, all five won both duals in straight sets. The Horned Frogs have now won five matches in a row, with the last three coming via 5-0 sweeps. As a team, TCU has won its last 26 sets, a new program record.

QUICK HITS vs TAMUK:
●      TCU swept the Javelinas, 5-0, in the first match of the day.
●      Trinity Cavanaugh and Tara Patton earned TCU's first point with a dominant, 21-9, 21-8, showing at No. 5.
●      This was the most lopsided victory of the day, with an average margin of 12.5 points per set.
●      It also sets a career-high for both Cavanaugh and Patton, for largest margin of victory.
●      Josie Miller and Caroline White were paired together again for the first time since the second weekend of the season, delivering a swift, 21-10, 21-16, win at No. 4.
●      They are now 3-2, from the No. 4 spot, together this season.
●      Maria Gonzalez and Rochelle Scott scored their eighth victory together as a pair, the third most wins from any Horned Frog duo this season.

●      TCU swept the Warhawks, 5-0, in the second match.
●      Trinity Cavanaugh and Tara Patton earned TCU's first point once again, winning comfortably, 21-14, 21-17, playing at No. 4 this time.
●      They improve to 4-2 together this season.
●      Josie Miller and Caroline White secured their fourth win together as well, this time at No. 5.
●      It was their first start at No. 5 this season.
●      Maria Gonzalez and Rochelle Scott delivered their ninth victory together as a pair at No. 3.
