Frogs Upset No. 18-ranked Aggies by 12 Points

Heard and Holmes have career days in the win
FORT WORTH – TCU's Lauren Heard scored 30-plus points for the fifth time in her career and Aja Holmes notched a career-high 22 points to help guide the TCU Horned Frogs to an 87-75 upset win over No. 18-ranked Texas A&M Sunday afternoon at Schollmaier Arena.
Heard finished with a game-high 33 points, which included going 18-for-21 from the free throw line overall. She was 13-of-14 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter alone. The 18 free throws made rank second-most in TCU single-game history and is tied for second-most on the Big 12's all-time list for free throws made in a game.
Holmes scored two more points than her previous career-high of 20 points, which she scored last season against Kansas State. The Horned Frogs shot a season-best 45.8 percent from the field – the team's highest field goal shooting percentage since a 48 percent effort at Oklahoma back on March 4, last season.
TURNING POINT
The Horned Frogs (4-4) opened the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back. TCU led the Aggies (9-2), who were also ranked No. 15 in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll, by as many as 29 points late in the third quarter. Texas A&M made a furious run in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Frogs 32-26 in the frame, but Heard's free throw efforts were the difference down the stretch.

• Heard scored 33 points to give her a career total of 1,738 points. She moved past Adrianne Ross into the No. 4 spot all-time. Ross had totaled 1,725 points in her career. Heard is now 26 points behind No. 3 Helena Sverrisdottir's total of 1,764 career points.
• Heard's 33 points rank as the fourth-most points she has scored in a game. She is the only player in school history to score 30+ points in a game five times in her career, surpassing Emma Wilson's mark of four 30-point games
• TCU had two players score 20 points or more in a game for the first time since Heard totaled 26 points and Tavy Diggs had 20 in TCU's win over Kansas in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament last season.
• Aahliyah Jackson, who played against her former team for the first time, tied a career-high with a team-leading eight rebounds on the day.
