Adika's 15 Points Lead Frogs Past Lions

Denmark native notches season-high in scoring for TCU
FORT WORTH – Senior Okako Adika scored a season-high 15 points to lead the TCU Horned Frogs past the Southeastern Louisiana University Lions, 55-46, in non-conference action Wednesday evening at Schollmaier Arena.
Adika led a trio of players scoring in double-figures as Lauren Heard tallied 12 points on the evening and Michelle Berry finished the game with 10 points. Adika also led the team with eight rebounds – just a rebound shy of her season-high that she posted in the season-opener against Houston Baptist.
TURNING POINT
In what turned out to be a game of runs, the Horned Frogs (3-3) managed to put the game out of reach with its last run of the contest. SLU used a 10-0 run at the end of the first quarter and start of the second quarter and led by as many as 11 points before TCU countered with a 14-0 run and take a 24-21 lead into halftime.
The Lions (2-5) notched a 13-3 run early in the third quarter and pushed the lead to36-29, but TCU again countered with a quarter-closing 10-0 run to go back up by three, 39-36, heading into the fourth quarter.
TCU extended its lead with a lay-up from Aja Holmes to open the final frame, but SLU knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to take a 42-41 lead with less than seven minutes to play. The Horned Frogs opened a 9-0 run with a pair of free throws from Heard and TCU's defense stifled the Lion offense, giving up just two field goals over the last 6:37 in the game. TCU's defense limited SLU to just 2-of-8 shooting over the final 6:37 and forced two turnovers.
