
Frogs Suffer Setback to Cowgirls at Home

Aja Holmes leads the way with career-high 14 points for the Frogs
FORT WORTH – TCU true freshman Aja Holmes scored a career-high 14 points, but Oklahoma State's Natasha Mack registered a triple-double on the way to leading the Cowgirls past the Horned Frogs, 78-53, Wednesday evening at Schollmaier Arena. The loss dropped TCU to 5-4 overall and 0-4 in Big 12 play, while OSU moved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the league standings.
TURNING POINT
Oklahoma State opened the contest with a 12-2 run and led by as many 13 points, up 20-7 in the first quarter. TCU closed the first quarter with three three-pointers from Holmes, but OSU's 13 of its 22 points in the first quarter came off turnovers and that lead to a six-point lead after the first frame.
TCU pulled within four early in the second quarter, but a 9-0 run to end the frame gave the Cowgirls a 37-25 lead at the break. OSU would lead by as many as 30 points late in the fourth quarter before ending the game with a 25-point victory. Mack scored posted game-highs with 28 points, 17 rebounds and 10 blocked shots on the way to registering a triple-double.
