TCU Claims Seven Matches on Second Day of TCU Invite

Marie Norris and Addy Guevara each remain unbeaten in 2021
FORT WORTH -- TCU Women's Tennis continued its strong run of form on a snowy Sunday inside the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth. All three doubles pairings secured victories, for the second straight day, and TCU won four of five singles matches.
For the second day in a row, the Horned Frogs took care of business on the doubles courts, improving to 6-0 in doubles matches as a team in 2021. The pairing of Stevie Kennedy and Tate Schroeder showed off their ability to make tough shots and volley quickly at the net, smashing winners on their way to a 6-3 victory. The duos of Marie Norris/Addy Guevara and Mercedes Aristegui/Isabel Pascual Montalvo each secured breaks on their opponent's final service game to win the final three games en route to 6-4 victories.
In singles action, Norris continued to dominate, securing a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Norris improves to 2-0 in singles action, 4-0 overall, and has now won 24 of her 28 games played this year.
Guevara stayed unbeaten in singles action as well, earning her fourth overall victory of the new year, 6-3, 6-2. She has placed herself in contention for one of the three tournament singles titles up for grabs this weekend, along with Norris.
After falling in singles action yesterday, Pascual Montalvo seemed to find her groove in the second set today, claiming her first singles win of the spring campaign: 6-3, 6-0. She joined Norris and Guevara with a 2-0 record today.
Margaret Polk played in another three-set match today, this time coming out on top: 6-0, 4-6, 1-0(5). She has won three of her six sets played in 2021 and will look to add to that total over the next two days.
The Horned Frogs will return to the courts tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. for the third of the four-day tournament.
