TCU goes 2-0 in day one of the Horned Frogs Challenge

FORT WORTH – The 15th ranked TCU beach volleyball team defeated Texas A&M - Kingsville and Nebraska on the first day of the Horned Frogs Challenge.

TCU began the day by defeating TAMUK, 4-1. Haven Hill and Jordan Westendorff started the day strong for the Horned Frogs, earning the first point of the match. Hill aced the Javelinas on the match point, giving TCU the 1-0 lead. TAMUK rallied back, tying TCU 1-1. Olivia Beyer and Taylor Bradley began the 3-0 run for the Horned Frogs on a Beyer smash, putting TCU up 2-1. Jensyn Bledsoe and Victoria McDonald quickly followed, adding to the win column, 3-1. To close out the match, Trinity Cavanaugh and Avery Arellano won their match in two sets, giving the Frogs the 4-1 win.

TCU swept Nebraska 5-0 in the afternoon, earning a 2-0 record on the day. Westendorff and Scott starting the scoring off for the Frogs with a decisive 21-11, 21-8 win. Hill and Brockett followed close behind, earning the second pair win of the day. Beyer and Bradley dominated on the first court, allowing only eight points in their first set. The duo's point gave TCU the victory and the 3-0 lead. Cavanaugh and Arellano battled from behind on the third court, pulling out the win to put TCU up 4-0. Bledsoe and McDonald's match went into a third set. The pair won in three, earning the 5-0 win for TCU.
