
TCU to Begin Individual Championships

Four TCU men’s tennis players will begin the NCAA individual championships on Monday and Tuesday.
ORLANDO, Fla. – Postseason action for four members of the TCU men's tennis team will begin on Monday, May 20 as Alex Rybakov and Alastair Gray will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's Singles Championship, while Rybakov and Gray will pair up along with Bertus Kruger and Reese Stalder to take part in the NCAA Division I Men's Doubles Championship that will begin on Tuesday, May 21 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
In the 64-player singles field that was announced on Sunday, the No. 4-ranked Rybakov moved up to the No. 3 seed and will face No. 48 Andrew Fenty of Michigan on Monday at 9 a.m., CT, while No. 28 Gray will take on No. 60 Kyle Seelig of Ohio State at 2:30 p.m., CT.
In the 32-pair doubles field that will begin on Tuesday, No. 15 Gray and Rybakov drew the No. 3 seeded team of Strahinja Rakic and Nuno Borges of Mississippi State, while No. 22 Kruger and Stalder will take on the No. 38 ranked pair of Brandon Laubser and Tad Maclean of Auburn. The Tennis Channel will have live broadcasts of action each day, while other matches will be streamed online.
TCU recently finished the team portion of the 2019 season by advancing to the quarterfinals at the 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship for the third time in the last five years and 10th time in program history.
