FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU beach volleyball team concluded the Horned Frogs Challenge and went 3-1 on the weekend by beating Missouri State (0-4) at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts in Fort Worth.
The Horned Frogs (5-3, 2-1 CCSA) faced No. 19 Grand Canyon (4-2) first on the day. GCU went up 2-0 behind strong showings from its fourth and fifth pairs. Haven Hill and Mandi Orellana pulled out a quick 21-14, 21-18 victory against the Lopes' second pair of Anaya Evans and Mikaela Raudsepp. TCU forced a third set on court three and ended up winning it, but a victory on court one sealed the 3-2 win for GCU.
TCU looked to rebound and opened up with a better showing against MSU. The teams split the first two matches and the first three pairs provided late drama. The Bears grabbed the win on court three, but Molly Scheel and Taylor Bradley quickly leveled the dual by winning 21-16, 21-18 on court two. With all eyes on court one, Victoria McDonald and Haven Hill scored the final five points of the second set to win the match, 3-2.
