The Horned Frogs finished competition in Manhattan Beach with losses to No. 3 Pepperdine and No. 1 UCLA.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. – The East Meets West Challenge came to an end on Sunday as the No. 19 TCU beach volleyball team dropped matches to No. 3 Pepperdine and No. 1 UCLA at the Manhattan Beach Pier.

The Horned Frogs (5-7) faced for the second straight day two of the top-5 ranked teams and took a 4-1 loss to No. 3 Pepperdine (7-4) to open the day before dropping a 5-0 decision to tournament host and No. 1 UCLA (14-0) to end the team's time in Manhattan Beach.

Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockett once again were the only pair to pick up a victory on the day with the duo scoring a three-set victory over Simone Priebe and Katie Gavin of Pepperdine, 21-13, 18-21, 15-12. Taylor Bradley and Claire Doyle were able to force a third on court three, but Pepperdine edged the duo, 15-13, in the final set.

UCLA came out strong in the second match and scored four of the wins in straight sets to take the overall victory. Bradley paired with Molly Scheel on court three and once again forced a third set, but UCLA was able to finish off the final set, 15-8, to take the match 5-0.

TCU will travel north to Malibu, Calif., for the Waves' Invite where the Frogs will face-off against Pepperdine and LMU on Wednesday, March 13.
