TCU Sweeps Final Day in Florida

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 19 TCU beach volleyball team picked up its first two wins of the year on Saturday by sweeping both Webber International and Florida Southern on the final day of the Paradise at the Burrow in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Horned Frogs (2-2) got out ahead of Webber (3-2) quickly. The No. 4 pair of Caroline White and Hannah Rogers led the way by winning 21-9, 21-9 against Molly Fusarelli and Julia Ferraro. The rest of the Frog pairs followed suit, as TCU faced no third sets the entire match.

Florida Southern (0-3) faced a similar fate, as they lost all of their first sets to TCU. The pair of Jaelyn Greene and Victoria McDonald were forced to go to the Frogs' first third set of the day on the No. 1 court, but were able to prevail as they won the match 21-8, 22-24, 15-5.

"We knew coming into this weekend that it was going to be tough because it is always windy playing in Boca Raton. FAU and UNF are very familiar playing in the wind, so it was hard for us to play our best against more experienced teams under those conditions. We adjusted very well the second day and I'm confident this weekend will help us later in the season."

TCU will host Georgia State, Tulane, Grand Canyon and Missouri State at the Horned Frogs Challenge from March 1-2 at the TCU Beach Volleyball Courts.
