TCU Defense Shuts Down Wyoming in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Desmond Bane's second consecutive double-double and a stifling defensive effort propelled TCU to a 64-47 win over Wyoming Tuesday in the consolation game of the MGM Resorts Main Event at T-Mobile Arena.

TCU (5-1) was led by Bane's game-high 22 points and career-high 11 rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. The Horned Frogs held the Cowboys (3-5) to just 17.9 percent (5-of-28) shooting and 14 points in the first half and 33.3 percent (16-of-48) shooting for the game. TCU led 30-14 at halftime, the fewest points TCU has given up in the first half since it held Texas Tech to just 14 points on Jan. 17, 2015.

TCU continued to pour it on in the second half, leading by as many as 24 points, 60-36 with 5:55 remaining, after a 3-pointer by PJ Fuller, who earned his first collegiate start. The freshman guard finished with 11 points.

- TCU outrebounded Wyoming 38-28 and has now outrebounded its opponent by double-digits in consecutive games. TCU improved to 63-18 when outrebounding its opponent under Jamie Dixon.

Individual Notes
- Desmond Bane scored a game-high 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. Bane has 1,361 career points, three shy of Vladimir Brodziansky for 12th on TCU's all-time scoring list.
- Bane also totaled a game-high and career-high 11 rebounds to give him a double-double for the fourth time of his career and third consecutive game.
- On the defensive end, Bane recorded a steal for the seventh consecutive game dating back to last season.
- In his first collegiate start, PJ Fuller scored 11 points to give him his second game in double-figures this season.
- Jaire Grayer scored nine points and shot 2-of-4 from 3-point range, giving him multiple 3-pointers made in five of his first six games to start the season.
- Jaedon Ledee recorded season highs in points (8) and rebounds (5).
- In his first start of the season, Edric Dennis scored seven points, hauled in five rebounds and dished out four assists.
- Dennis' made 3-pointer in the first half gives him at least one made three in 15 of his last 16 games dating back to last season with UT-Arlington.
- Francisco Farabello tallied three points, five rebounds, a game-high five assists and a season-high four steals. All four of his steals came in the first 12 minutes of the second half.
- Kevin Samuel blocked two shots, giving him at least one blocked shot in 26 consecutive games dating back to last season.
