TCU will hit the road to take on UT Arlington on Friday afternoon.
UPDATE: Due to weather, the TCU men's tennis match at UT Arlington has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m., at the UTA Tennis Center.
FORT WORTH, Texas – The month of February begins on the road for the No. 16 TCU men's tennis team as they make the short trip across town to Arlington, Texas to take on UT Arlington on Friday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m.
TCU Notables
TCU moved up six spots in the Oracle/ITA team poll this week after sweeping LMU and then-No. 20 Oklahoma State last weekend to win the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. With the two victories, the Frogs move on to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship for the 13th time in program history that will take place Feb. 15-18 in Chicago, Ill.
No. 14 Alex Rybakov is making the most of his senior year with a perfect 10-0 record in singles action with five wins over ranked opponents. Rybakov is 15-1 overall this season with a 5-1 mark in doubles including 2-0 in dual matches with partner Alastair Gray. Sophomore and No. 65 Bertus Kruger leads the team with an 11-5 record with three wins over ranked opponents.
Scouting the Mavericks
UT Arlington enters the match with a 2-2 record after dropping matches to Baylor (7-0) and Rice (5-2) to open the season before sweeping Texas Permian Basin and Prairie View A&M to get the team's first wins. Miguel Cabrera joined the team in January and is 3-1 in singles action while Enrique Pardo leads the team with nine wins overall and a 3-1 mark in dual matches. The Mavericks are playing well in doubles matches with six wins so far in dual matches including a 3-0 mark by Pardo and Eduard Simo.

Friday's match marks the 26th meeting all-time between TCU and UT Arlington with the Frogs holding a 24-1 mark against the Mavericks in the all-time series record. The only loss by TCU in the series came in 1999 in a 4-3 decision in Arlington. Since 1999, TCU has won the last 18 straight meetings including sweeps in the last three matches played. Under head coach David Roditi, TCU is 7-0 against UT Arlington and has only dropped four points in the seven matches played. Friday's match will be the 10th showdown all-time played in Arlington with the Frogs holding an 8-1 advantage in matches played at the UTA Tennis Center.
