"We love Anneli's tenacity, versatility, work ethic and drive," Pebley said. "On top of it, she is skilled, athletic and has limitless potential. One of many things we respect about Anneli is that her toughness extends beyond the court. She is a winner on the court and in life."
Maley, a 6-foot-2 wing player from Melbourne, Australia, played in 37 games for Oregon as a freshman this past season, including all 18 Pac-12 regular season games and all three Pac-12 tournament games as the Ducks won both conference titles.
She averaged just under 10 minutes per game and scored a total of 81 points on the season, including season-highs of nine points against Southern Utah and No. 25 Cal. Maley played in all three of Oregon's NCAA tournament wins, including scoring seven points in a second-round win over Minnesota.
Maley was ranked the No. 6 international prospect in 2017 when she came to the United States and has competed for Australia on the U16, U17, U18 and U19 levels.
Most recently, she played in the 2017 FIBA U19 Women's World Championships and averaged 10.7 rebounds per game, the fourth best mark in the tournament. She also represented Australia on the global stage at the 2015 U19 Women's World Championships and the 2014 U17 Women's World Championships.
At the regional level, she helped Australia to a gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Oceania U18 Championships, averaging 10.2 points and 11.0 rebounds in that tournament. She also played in the 2013 FIBA Oceania U16 Championships.
Maley also has experience playing as an amateur for the Adelaide Lightning of the WNBL, the top women's basketball league in Australia. She played in 12 games for the Lightning in 2016-17, averaging 3.9 points and 4.2 rebounds per game against some of the world's top players.
Maley will have to sit out the 2018-19 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
