TCU's 6-over-par 294 was keyed by Annika Clark, Emmy Martin and Kelly McGovern posting 73s. The Horned Frogs' trio is tied for 17th individually, 3 shots behind co-leaders Haylee Harford of Furman and Baylor's Maria Vesga. Furman is the team leader at 290.
"I'm really proud of the way we competed today," TCU head women's golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "We came out strong in our first round of the spring. We showed a lot of grit and confidence.
"They are really proving to themselves that they are a top team and one to contend every single tournament. We've put ourselves in position. That's what we want going into our final 36 holes, and we're really excited about the next couple of days."
Clark was 2-under on the front nine. Like Martin, Clark recorded a pair of birdies and shot par on 13 holes. McGovern recorded three birdies.
Brooke McDougald contributed a 75 for TCU. She had a birdie and shot par on 14 holes.
Brooke Graebe totaled a team-best four birdies for the Horned Frogs.
TCU's second-round tee times Monday begin with an 8 a.m. AST (6 a.m. CST) shotgun start. Live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com.
